Is DVMReady NAVLE prep really free?
You can start with Blocks 1-4, which include 120 NAVLE-style questions under the current 30-question block builder, without creating an account. Unlock Blocks 5-51 and the 360-question simulation with a one-time purchase ($50 CAD for 3 months or $80 CAD for 6 months).
How realistic are the NAVLE questions?
DVMReady questions are founder-led, source-aware NAVLE-style educational cases reviewed for clinical reasoning, clarity, and independence. They are not official NAVLE questions.
How many questions are in the bank?
The bank contains 1536 NAVLE-style practice questions across 51 timed blocks, plus a 360-question full simulation. Most timed blocks contain 30 questions; the final premium carryover block may vary slightly as new questions are added.
Do I need an account to start?
No. You can start Blocks 1-4, which include 120 NAVLE-style questions under the current 30-question block builder, without an account.
What requires an account later?
Progress tracking, weak-area practice sets, saved review queue, and dashboard analytics require a free account. Full access beyond Blocks 1-4, including Blocks 5-51 and the 360-question simulation, requires a one-time purchase ($50 CAD for 3 months or $80 CAD for 6 months).
What is ECFVG vs PAVE?
ECFVG (Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates) and PAVE (Program for the Assessment of Veterinary Education Equivalence) are the two main pathways for foreign-trained veterinarians to become licensed in the United States. ECFVG is accepted in all states, while PAVE is accepted in a subset of states.
How long does the pathway take?
Most candidates complete the ECFVG or PAVE pathway in 2–4 years, depending on exam scheduling, clinical training requirements, and individual preparation time.
How much does it cost?
Costs vary by pathway and include exam fees, clinical training, travel, and licensing fees. ECFVG and PAVE each publish current fee schedules on their official websites.
Which states accept which pathway?
ECFVG is accepted in all 50 U.S. states. PAVE is accepted in most but not all states; check with your target state veterinary medical board for the latest acceptance list.
I'm a Canadian vet student — is this for me?
Canadian graduates of AVMA-accredited schools typically do not need ECFVG or PAVE. If you trained outside North America, these pathways may apply. Contact your target state's veterinary board for guidance.
